Hunan Changsha Wangwang Middle Road Area New Drainage Pipeline Project - 3PE Anti-corrosion Spiral Steel Pipes

The new drainage pipeline project in Wangwang Middle Road Area, Wangcheng District, Changsha City, is a critical component of the district’s three-year rainwater-sewage interception initiative and a key assessment project at provincial, municipal, and district levels. It has also been included in the central government’s funding support program. Wangwang Middle Road serves as a demarcation route between the central urban area of Wangcheng and the northern section of Wangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone. Running east-west, the road originally featured two 1.2-meter-diameter combined sewer pipes. During heavy rainfall, these pipes failed to drain rainwater efficiently, causing urban inundation that severely disrupted production and daily life for surrounding enterprises and residents. Additionally, overflowing sewage polluted and damaged the ecological environment of Maqiao River.

To resolve this public welfare issue, Wangcheng District actively sought support from central, provincial, and municipal governments, securing a total investment of 63.19 million RMB. The project entails constructing approximately 6,207 meters of new rainwater and sewage trunk pipelines along Wangwang Road, utilizing open-cut and pipe-jacking construction methods. The pipelines employed in this project are our company’s proprietary 2.4-meter and 2.6-meter-diameter 3PE anti-corrosive spiral steel pipes.

3PE Anti-corrosive Spiral Steel Pipes are advanced anti-corrosive pipelines fabricated by integrating large-diameter spiral steel pipes as the base material with a state-of-the-art three-layer polyethylene (3PE) anti-corrosive coating. This coating consists of an inner epoxy powder layer, an intermediate adhesive layer, and an outer polyethylene layer, forming a tightly bonded protective system. The pipes exhibit exceptional corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and strong connectivity, withstanding both internal and external pressures, geological settlement, and high water flow capacity. Designed for a service life exceeding 50 years, they are globally recognized as the most effective and high-performance anti-corrosive pipelines. Initially developed for long-distance oil and gas transmission, 3PE pipes are now widely adopted in large-scale water conservancy projects, municipal water supply/drainage systems, and other infrastructure sectors.

Our company is the sole enterprise in Hunan Province capable of producing such large-diameter pipelines. All pipelines undergo 100% non-destructive testing (NDT) and hydrostatic pressure testing prior to delivery, ensuring stringent quality control and laying a solid foundation for engineering reliability.
